While still a young boy, he was a soda jerk and ran a railroad yard as a General Yardmaster's Clerk while still in his teens. After learning to fly with first the Army Air Corps and then the Navy in WWII, he went into Accounting, eventually becoming a Partner with what is now Deloitte Touche. Moving to L.
